Efforts.

Salam..

I recently got in touch with a prominent speaker/debater from the UK.

i was just trying around and pulling strings to see what my options look like in inviting speakers to my college.

shockingly enough, abt 15 minutes on after i sent an inquiry,

i received a reply

As-salaamu alaykum,

I pray you are well.

Concerning your email, if you are able to pay for travel and accommodation (although I am willing to stay with brothers or with a family, or even in the mosque) I will be more than happy to facilitate any event.

What do you have in mind?

masyaAllah his remarks on how he only needs accomodation and travel and is willing to stay in a mosque really opened up my eyes to how much heart he has in spreading the words of Allah and he wants nothing in return.

to all da'ies, our efforts are nothing in the eyes of Allah if compared to this, or compared to all the sacrifices made by  the companions.

may Allah guide us away from being satisfied with our efforts. and away from that feeling of arrogance and looking down on others'.
