The internet has been a dangerous place for news and manipulation of information.
people believes almost everything on the internet.
Yet internet law since almost non-existant in Malaysia, and it is very vague(it's also very subjective because of the nature of the internet) in even far-off countries like the US.
It's sad to see words being manipulated, and lies being spread without people even knowing it.
The worst part is, you cant sue the users because a) they're anonymous b) there's no law to back it up.
We need more people in the IT field to change this reality. yet during my time, only 6 IT/CS people studied in the US and 2 of them have now switched to economics.
IT is not just about the technology, it's about the social aspects that come along with it, with a lot of emphasis on how hman interaction actually shapes the internet instead of the code behind it.
IT Matters.
