Heart

The heart is the most sensitive and yet the most influential component of the human body.
The qulub. Originally from the word qalb which derives from a meaning of something that turns left and right, up and down. Inconsistant.

Imagine holding a small marble between your fingers. Swaying it from side to side and up and down. It moves soft and has absolutely no power to resist. That is the analogy of the heart.

The Prophet Muhammad (Salla-Allahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam) said:
“Verily, the hearts of all the sons of Adam are between the two fingers out of the fingers of the Compassionate Lord as one heart. He turns that to any (direction) He likes."

Many times have I find myself in a position of being tested by Allah. Given a test of nafs; being served right in front of my eyes as if saying "Here, take this, and indulge in your nafs." YOLO as the urban language refers it as. And as soon as that thought comes, the rational mind says "NO. this is wrong." and the rational mind warns, "FEAR ALLAH!" giving a reminder of how Allah dislikes this.One by one, verses of the Quran come forward as the mind warns the heart of a calamity that bewaits those who dont persevere.

Then suddenly the weak heart whispers, "just this once. How bad can it be?" and the fight between the rational mind goes on and on while the feet, the hands, the ears, the mouth and the eyes keep on indulging on the nafs. and as soon as the sin has been done, the mouth lets out words of regret, "astaghfirullah!" But it is too late. The pen has been lifted. Allah sees and hears all. And syaitan smiles with the biggest grin. Another of Muhammad's followers have fallen down.

That is how weak and fragile the heart is. How a person with iman can be seduced by temptations brought forth as a test

At the end of the day, always remember, Allah is most merciful. He forgives those who are sincere in seeking repentance. Do not give up just because you fell down a couple of times. For Allah does not burden anyone with more than what he can bear. 
So have faith. Get back up with your feet firm on the ground. Face the world with a steel heart, the hotter the fire, the stronger the steel.

Remember, life is nothing but a test. and the gates of heaven is filled with hardships and temptations.
And at times when you feel sad and as if there is no hope, remember, "Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near."

A reminder for your heart, and mine. May Allah guide our hearts to His path and give us strength to guard it against all wrongs.
